Finger vein biometrics, also known as vascular biometrics, identifies a user based on the vein patterns in their fingers, which are unique to every person. Traditionally, Finger Vein Technology has been considered one of the most effective ways of identifying a person, but the invasive nature of its scanning devices never really gained much popularity.
The Hitachi C-1 Finger Vein Reader is a unique device since users don’t need to get in direct contact with the device. The users have to hold three fingers over the device, maintaining a safe distance of 20mm between their fingers and the device for identification and authentication. The process is completely contactless and highly secured.
