Japanese Aeon Bank Introducing Biometrics Authentication System
A Japanese bank named Aeon recently declared that they will implement biometric technology to ease the banking process for their customers. Customers will now be able to conduct empty-handed transactions with biometric verification.
Aeon has entered a contract with a biometric technology company who will equip the banks’ ATMs and teller windows with latest biometric authentication systems. The bank is hopeful that this new technology will make the banking process easier than ever for their customers.
Aeon said that customers would not require any bank card, PIN number, or other security systems to conduct a transaction after implementing this technology. Bank customers can now complete any transaction by using their fingerprint or finger vein with this new biometric authentication system.
The technology vendor expressed that the newly implemented biometric technology will be capable of capturing both fingerprint and finger vein authentication. The biometric company will provide necessary hybrid biometric devices and software library for both fingerprint and finger vein authentication to the Japanese bank.
The bank has already launched this biometric authentication system at five of their branches. Depending on the success rate, they have a plan to expand this technology to all of their branches within the next year.
