Australian airports are at the second stage of biometrics implementation. eGates will be linked to kiosks at eight airports so that travelers’ faces can be identified using a picture they have already provided. The airport, as part of its collaboration with the United States Customs and Border Protection (CBP), conducted trials of biometric screening for a period of forty-five days, during which, they tested three scanning devices.
